Custom Map Videos.

Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies, the spin-off of Call of Duty: World at War's 'Zombies' mode and sequel to Call of Duty: Zombies, is a first-person shooter zombie survival game where you shoot, stab, and bomb zombies on your iPhone.

Pros

Solo or multiplayer: Play by yourself or band with up to three teammates to return the undead to their rightful place in hell.

Ops

Various maps, characters, and difficulty levels: You'll never get bored, with all the different maps (featuring innumerable rooms to pass through), characters, and difficulty levels to choose from.

Satisfying gameplay: There's nothing more satisfying than slashing and shooting zombies as their blood and guts splatter everywhere. You'll also make a killing in currency, which you can use to unlock stuff in the game, and sometimes even power-ups, such as extra ammunition or double currency after each kill.

Crouching and sprinting: Walking and turning are fine, but you can do those in any ol' zombie shooter. Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies also adds the ability to crouch and sprint, which can respectively help you hide and run fast when the undead are after you.

Voice chat: We love being able to chat with our friends in multiplayer mode. However, make sure to grant the game microphone access for voice chat to work.

Dead-Ops Arcade: As an added bonus, the game offers 50 levels of top-down arcade shooting: annihilate zombies, collect weapon upgrades, win score-increasing gems, and move on.

Tutorial: Helpful for first-time players, the in-game tutorial teaches you how to move your character, pick up weapons, and use them properly.

Cons

Shooting difficulties: Even with auto-aim, there were times where we found it difficult to shoot zombies by double tapping our screen. The inclusion of a fire button would certainly make things easier.

Bottom Line

Custom

If killing zombies is your thing, you won't find a better first-person shooter than Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies for iPhone. Just make sure you have the shooting part down before the hordes of zombies approach.

8 Stunning Remastered Zombies Maps!

Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles has finally dropped on Xbox One and PC! That means the 8 newly remastered zombies maps of yesteryear are finally available on all major gaming consoles and fans can't wait to start tearing into the hordes of zombie freak sacks!

These maps are filled to the brim with new Easter Eggs, secret radios featuring Dr. Monty and Dr. Maxis, Gobble Gum Machines, and the Wunderfizz as well! Some people find that the older maps from Call of Duty: World at War's Nazi Zombies are too different and the new Mega Gobble Gums make players way too over-powered, but many fans have been chomping at the bit waiting for additional perks like Juggernog and Double Tap Root Beer, especially for the first map, 'Nacht Der Untoten' (which only has Mystery Box and Mule Kick).

So, with all these newly remastered maps, which ones make the Top 3 Zombies Chronicles maps and why?

1. Ascension

The Zombies map, 'Ascension' (originally released as a D.L.C map for Call of Duty: Black Ops) is best known for being the first Treyarch Zombies map to include a Mega Easter Egg for players to decode and included multiple steps we had to follow to complete it. This 'Mystery Man' Easter Egg was the start of a new phenomena of multi-step challenges Call of Duty: Zombies fans still cannot get enough of!

'Ascension' makes the list of Top 3 Zombies Chronicles remakes due to the fact that the 'Mystery Man' Easter egg finally offers players a reward for completing the challenge. I would of liked it better if all players were given a Perk-a-holic, instead of the Death Machine reward, but beggars can't be choosers! This Easter Egg still requires all four players to complete but has always been a fun challenge.

The Shadow Man (Shadows of Evil) also makes a very small appearance in 'Ascension,' as well as the perk robbing, round 5, Cosmic Silver-back Space Monkeys. PhD Flopper has been replaced with the new perk, Widow's Wine, which is a downer according to fans, but the beautiful job remaking the map makes up for it. The actual hordes of zombies are also very grotesque, and the runners are very reminiscent of the first Call of Duty: Black Ops' 'Call of the Dead' map.

2. Moon

Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies map 'Moon' was the first time Treyarch released a fifth D.L.C. pack for the Call of Duty series and owners of the Season Pass for Black Ops also received that map for free!

The remastered version of 'Moon' for Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles is creepier than before and the detailed terrain of the Moon and deep space is simply hypnotizing. Like 'Ascension', the zombies in 'Moon' are gory and horrifying, as if the vacuum of space had sucked the flesh clean off the skull, leaving only blood and muscle remaining.

The Hacking Device also returns and the Easter Egg of Insanity still elusively awaits for players to discover! 'Moon' also features the Wunderfizz machine, a new hide and seek Easter Egg, and recently discovered, and hilariously cute, 'Space Dog' Easter Egg as well!

Lingering around the map is the infamous 'Zombie Cosmonaut' with a random friend's name still hovering over his head. PhD Flopper is replaced here as well by Widow's Wine, which happens to be a little more handy in this map than in 'Ascension'.

3. Nacht Der Untoten

It all began here, with 'Nacht Der Untoten' (Night of the Dead), the first Treyarch Easter Egg that was never meant to be! Originally, just a game the developers threw together to pass the time on break while working on Call of Duty: World at War, 'Nacht Der Untoten' became a hit at the office and also the secret reward for completing the campaign mode for the first time!

This was long before our favorite 'Origins' characters came around (Nicholai, Dempsey, Richtoffen and Takeo) and was rather simple, featuring only the Mystery Box and a few wall-buys for weapon choices. Among the other features was the secret song activated by exploding all the barrels, as well as the radio that played a few simple songs as well. Still a favorite of many fans, 'Nacht Der Untoten' has been remastered twice. Once in Call of Duty: Black Ops, and now for Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies Chronicles!

What makes 'Nacht Der Untoten' one of the Top 3 Zombies Chronicles maps? Fans finally have access to a plethora of weapons from the Mystery Box, new Wall Buys like the Argus and Kuda, and although the Mule Kick perk machine is still present, the Wunderfizz perk machine is now available to get the rest of the perks like Juggernog and Widow's Wine as well!

Are There More Zombies Chronicles to Come?

It's a shame that fans who purchased Call of Duty: Black Ops III and the Season Pass also have to shell out another $29.99 for the Zombies Chronicles map pack, but to many, it is well worth the price tag to play these amazing remastered versions of these classic maps. The additional free 20 Liquid Divinium for Dr. Monty's Gobble Gum Factory and free Pack-a -punch weapon camo are just icing on that cake! Who knows? Maybe we will get a new free map later on down the line, like they did with the map 'Moon' in the first Call of Duty: Black Ops. We can only dream!
